BIO
Andrea Brand is a multidisciplinary artist based in Kincardine, Ontario, Canada.
She holds a Fine Arts Diploma with Honours from Georgian College, and her work has recently been exhibited with the Society of Canadian Artists.
Informed by extensive backcountry canoe travel and an en plein air practice, Brand explores how landscapes and people become intertwined with history, cultural narratives, and personal memory.
Working in drawing and painting, she combines charcoal and acrylic paint, using a metallic copper underpainting while allowing traces of what lies beneath to remain visible in the finished work.
